On day 69, the revolution dons the Christmas spirit
- As the country prepares for Christmas eve amid heavy traffic, protests continued for their 69th consecutive day in the revolution squares across the country.
- In Beirut and Tyre, students and protesters demonstrated in front of the Central Bank, to denounce its policies. A clash with security forces occurred when they tried to stop protesters from blocking the street in front of the central bank in Hamra. Meanwhile, Finance Minister Ali Hassan Khalil condemned the banks withholding depositors’ salaries.
- On the other hand, volunteers in Beirut spent the day in tents preparing warm meals for a free dinner in Martyr’s Square to celebrate Christmas Eve.
