Freedom for Lina Atallah
- Egyptian security forces have arrested journalist Lina Attalah, editor-in-chief of the publication "Mada Masr", from in front of the Torah prison in Cairo, where she had been interviewing Professor Laila Soueif, mother of the political prisoner Alaa Abdel Fattah.
- Lina is expected to be held overnight at the Al Maadi police station, then appear tomorrow in front of the prosecutor for interrogation.
- During the past few days, pictures had circulated of Laila Soueif asleep in front of the prison, waiting endlessly for a permission to visit her son. Alaa, one of the symbols of the January Revolution, has been on hunger strike in prison for an entire month, since mid-April, to protest his ongoing pretrial detention and deprivation of visitation rights.
