Protests and sit-ins continued across the country in key cities including Beirut, Tripoli, Sidon, Jounieh.
In Tripoli, tents were set up in front of the Ministry of Finance, as well as other public institutions.
In Jounieh, a night march was held in demand for an independent judiciary, while army dispersed students attempting to shut the Beirut Arab University.
The Union of Banks announced its halting of the strike, with reports circulating that banks will reopen on Tuesday - with the decision lying on the banks themselves.
In light of the upcoming parliamentary session, extra security measures were taken as calls from protestors deeming the session “unconstitutional” rung out.
52 out of 128 members of parliament from political parties Kataeb, Lebanese Forces, Progressive Socialist Party and Future Movement announced their boycott of the session.
