Across Beirut, representatives of several professions including medical marched from the Ministry of Justice in Adlieh to Riad al Solh in Downtown demanding an independent judiciary system. Protesters also demonstrated in front of the Costa Brava landfill demanding its closure, as well as in Jezzine against the construction of the Bisri Dam. Protests also continued in Nabatieh, Byblos, Jabal Mohsen, and others.
In Baalbek, protesters lit candles in commemoration of the Prophet’s birth.
Some gas stations across the country closed due to an announcement by fuel importers saying that fuel will be sold in dollars and at higher exchange rates.
Tensions between banks, bank employees and customers rose as strict restrictions were placed on withdrawals.
