Health Ministry asks citizens to stay home
- The president called for an emergency cabinet meeting on Sunday in Baabda, followed by a meeting for the Higher Defense Council as the number of coronavirus infections in Lebanon rose to 93. The Health Ministry asked people to stay home in self-isolation and leave only when necessary, and the Economy Minister asked supermarket and food store owners to temporarily work extra hours, in order to fulfill people's needs.
Arrest of exchange shop owners in Sidon and Baalbeck
- Internal Security Forces have arrested owners of exchange shops in Sidon and Baalbeck for not complying with the Central Bank's decision of capping dollar sales at 2000 LBP. They issued warnings for non-complying neighboring shops, threatening legal prosecution.
Revolution tent in Jal el Dib burnt as protests continue
- Unknown assailants set fire to the protestors' tent in Jal el Dib, early Saturday. Meanwhile, protesters in Taalabaya closed the road to denounce the Health Ministry's inconsistent approach in combating the spread of coronavirus: closing shops and threatening workers' income without retribution, as airports and borders are kept open.
