COVID-19 Update
  • 7 new cases, 961 cases, 251 recoveries, 26 deaths
  • ATTACK AGAINST NABATIEH AL-NAJDEH HOSPITAL: A group of people attacked medical staff in the emergency section of Nabatieh Najdeh Hospital, also breaking medical equipment. This was because the hospital refused their entry unless they followed the COVID-19 protocol prior to admittance. The hospital's director Mona Abu Zeid pleaded, "It is unacceptable that the situation has reached this point without there being anyone to protect us." This attack occurred less than 24 hours after an attack perpetrated by the army against an emergency doctor in Tripoli's Dar al Shifaa Hospital.

The Lebanese Association of Banks (ABL) release an alternative plan to that of the government
  • THE BANKS WANT MORE: Following the government's economic plan, the Lebanese Association of Banks (ABL) released an alternative one. According to the ABL's plan, the banks are actually doing alright, and they represent three million depositors. In fact, the state only has to negotiate with the ABL about the payment of its domestic debt. While the ABL acknowledges the state's lack of liquidity, it has its eyes on the state's many assets. The banks, after reaping huge benefits from lending the state, want to seize the state's assets as well.
