- GENERAL SECURITY REFUSES ENTRY TO LEBANON-BORN PALESTINIAN. A Lebanon-born Palestinian man was left stranded in Dubai on Sunday after two General Security officers before the chartered MEA flight, for which he had received initial approval, took off. The man, Tarek Abu Taha, outlined in a lengthy post on social media the mistreatment he experienced by the two officers. This prompted a response from General Security that reiterated that "only Lebanese” were allowed to take advantage of repatriation flights, based on a May 1 circular that explicitly prohibited "servants and individuals of the Palestinian refugee community in Lebanon” from returning on the repatriation flights.
